Pool tournament raises £395

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to the pool tournament, especially to Martin, without whose help we couldn't have managed.

We made an amaxing £395, which has brought us even closer to our total.

Congratulations to Benson and Ginge, who, against all the odds, took first place.

Pool Competition at the Duke of Wellington

The lovely Martin at the Duke of Wellington is helping us put on a pool competition on Sunday 22nd July. It costs £10 per pair to enter, and there will be prizes and of course the Duke of Wellington's famous barbeque. So come along and drink up, because a very generous 10% of the takings behind the bar will also be going to charity.

We managed to raise nearly £300, which means we've now raised over £2700, so we are well on our way to our £6000 target.

The Big Q's Heavy Disco Revue

It was the Queen's 3rd birthday yesterday, so we had a big old knees up - any excuse heh?
The wonderful Affy and fellow birthday boy Mark provided us with the sounds and we think everyone concerned had a pretty fab time.
We recieved some very generous and much appreciated donations whch brought our total to a rip roaring £1165.
We had so much fun we're going to do it again soon - so watch this space.

First Goal Scorer

For the Israel-England Euro 2008 qualfier the pub was absolutely packed - we ran a first goal scorer competition (thanks to Jen for the tickets), we charged £1.50 a go, and 50p from each ticket went towards our fundraising. We made £12.50 and the winner gave back a fifth of his winnings - what a generous soul. We made another £43 in generous donations - England were crap, but our customers were not!
Thanks to everyone who gave yesterday

The Beginning...

This afternoon Erica and I paid our deposit for our trip of a lifetime......
In November this year we will be heading off to Thailand for 11 days of trekking, kayaking and elephant riding to raise money for the MS Society and the Stroke Council. Erica will have to conquer her fear of creepy crawlies and heights as we hike through the jungle and across rope bridges....and knowing how clumsy I am, it will be a miracle if I come home in one piece!
We have to raise a minimum of £2575 in sponsorship each, on top of the £245 deposit we paid today and have lots of fundraising ideas and events in mind which we will hopefully make people aware of via the blog.
Thanks to a very generous pledge from a certain Mr Kale, Erica and I finished our first official day of fundraising a whopping great £990 closer to our minimum target of £5640.

251 Days to go...£4650 left to raise
